Update on Dutasteride

Regrowth.com has once again been in contact with Glaxo-Wellcome regarding the status of its new treatment for hairloss, Dutasteride.

Mary Ann Rhyne, a spokesman for Glaxo-Wellcome, said that no decision has yet been made. When asked whether the merger with SmithKline-Beecham would affect the decision regarding Dutasteride, Ms. Rhyne indicated that Glaxo-Wellcome will remain a separate entity and said, "We're making this decision as Glaxo-Wellcome... expect this to follow the same decision path as before."

The treatment is also being studied for the treatment of enlarged prostates, which is expected to be approved sooner than the hairloss version of the medication. According to Ms. Rhyne, more information will also be announced regarding the prostate version later in the month.

Regrowth.com will be remaining in contact with Glaxo-Wellcome for further information regarding Dutasteride.
