 		Ive been on it for about a month and a half and propecia before that for even longer and i feel that i had better results with propecia/proscar. Now these results were not good enough in my eyes thus i began my risky treatment of AVODART but i dont think its strong enough. 0.5mgs is nothing, how long does the pill block the DHT and does the DHT need to cling to the follicles for awhile to kill them or can it just slip through the window when the drug is no longer in my system? I was looking through some old photographs to see a pattern of hairloss in my family and i saw that my mothers father and grandfather have lots of hair. I know that the mpb comes from the mothers side and the only balndess i saw was in her grandfathers uncle..could that be him in me? My fathers father was bald but we all know its from the mothers side. Is there a way to give a blood sample and see for sure that your hair is being affected by DHT and not anything else? Sorry about all the questions but i havent been able to get on this site in awhile so its nice to let loose.

From what every doctor has told me and what I have read it takes a while to see results. They say that it can take anywhere from 4-12 months to see results, but that is for people taking Propecia. I would say give Avodart at least 4 months and then decide if you think you should continue.

I forgot to add that I would not recommend taking it twice a day. Almost everyone only takes Propecia once a day, and from the information that is out there, Avodart is a more potent drug. If you do decide to take it twice a day I would talk to a doctor first, because you would be increasing your odds for side effects by taking it twice a day.

I am personally waiting until there is enough information out on Avodart/Dutasteride so my doctor and I can make an informed decision on whether or not I should take Avodart. At the moment I have medical and natural system that seems to be working. In the morning I take one Propecia along with a multi-vitamin and 500mg of L-Lysine and I apply Monoxidil 5% to my entire damp head, including temples. Then at night 12 hours after taking the first group of pills I take another 500mg of L-Lysine and 160mg of Saw Palmetto, once again I apply the 5% Monoxidil to damp hair.

The L-Lysine is supposed to help the Monixidil and Propecia work better, so that is why I take it, even if it is not helping my hair loss it is like 3-4 dollars for 100 of them, so I figured that I would try it out. My doctor said that it could help and I have read on a couple of sites, including this one, that it helps other products work better. Saw Palmetto is just a less effective natural form of Propecia, in my opinion, so I decided to just take 160mg once a day 12hrs after the Propecia.

Other than that I try to eat less fast food and other junk food, replacing it with fruits and vegetables. So far the system is working for me I have only been on it for 1 month, but am begining to see hair regrow where my receding hairline was. Not colorless hairs, but actual pigmented hairs so I believe that what I am doing is working for me. I believe that until there is a 100% cure that everyone should study all the information out there and decide with the help of a doctor what would work best for them. Which is what you seem to be doing, so kudos to you.
