Normally I don't post to forums like this, but I felt compelled to share my results with other people. I've been on Avodart for about 2-3 weeks now and I have to say I'm actually seeing regrowth in areas where hair hasn't been in years. My hair loss isn't that bad but it is receding in the front and it's beginning to creep up into the temple area. I finally decided to try Avodart because nothing else was working, as far as regrowth is concerned. Products I've used in the past are DHT shampoos (10 years), Rogaine (8 years), Propecia (2 years), plus some other products like FNS, Minoxidil/Retin-A mixture, Thymuskin. None of these products worked. I believe they slowed my hair loss but definitely no new regrowth. But since Avodart I have new vellus hairs growing along my original hairline. They're not thick or dark yet, but the fact I'm getting all these little hairs along my original hairline is pretty encouraging. I definitely notice some shedding that's occurring along my current hairline though, but since I'm seeing new growth and as they say shedding is a good sign, I'm sticking with it. I do currently use other products such as Xandrox 12.5%, Rogaine, and Topical Spironolactone. And use the Lasercomb 3 times a week. It could be that these products are enhancing the effects of the Avodart but it's only since I've been taking the Avodart where I really noticed visible results. Re: Avodart results I know it's hard to believe but I'm not kidding, I'm actually starting to see new hairs along my original hairline. They're only light, vellus hairs mind you, so maybe I'm getting a little too anxious. I can understand your reluctance I would be the same way. I've been using all kinds of treatments for years and I haven't had any real results. I used to get annoyed reading other people's posts saying how their growing so much new hair from products like Propecia, Rogaine, etc. Then I'm like, I'm using the same stuff why am I not getting the same results. I really think people react differently to certain kinds of treatment. What works great for one person, might only work OK for the other and then not work at all for someone else. Like I said in my original post I'm using other forms of treatment, so maybe those treatments are starting to kick in. I'm not sure, all I know is I'm going to continue the Avodart along with my other products.
