Avodart for 7 months... ...has not yet produced any discernable results. Has anyone had results after 7 months with Avodart? Has anyone else had no results with Avodart? Any recommendations for when to close this effort with Avodart?

I have been on avodart for almost 16 months and hair continued to get better. Almost back to a full head of hair with super thick hair. I think it works 60% better than finasteride myself. But im quitting it due to it destroying my face with side effects. I would continue using and give it at least a yr. Its a slow process. But it is the best thing out for hair loss as long as your not experiencing side effects like i have.

Been using it for almost two years with modest results. It at the least has regrown some hair and kept what I still have.

Member18661, What experiences have you had with Avodart re:adverse events with your face? I have just finished my first month on Avodart 0.5 and have had zero side effects at all...just curious. That side effect you mentioned is not listed at Rxlist.com,but it still concerns me.Any info you wish to disclose regarding the reason(s) you have ceased to continue on Avodart would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Or outside, actually, as foreign pharmacies don't require prescriptions, and I haven't got one. Anyone?

To Member18684, How old are you? Have you experienced any dry skin? Well since being on avodart, i have extremely dry skin, with wrinkles forming on my face and im just 22. There is one area where the skin is sunkin on my face and is dis coloredand scaring the crap out of me. Also when a scab heals from popping a zit, the scab doesnt heal. The scab will stay attached to the skin for weeks and months and will not heal.

Member18661 , I am 45 and have bald on top since around age 22.I was Rxed enough refills for a 1 year trial of Avodart 0.5.Thus far, there have been zero adverse events with me.It for certain is regrowing hair, and I've been on this stuff for only a month and 4 days.Since it is only currently approved as a BPH drug with hair regrowth as a side effect,I am addressing 2 issues at once.I do not have BPH,but a regimen of Avodart will completely arrest the process of BPH from even starting.I figure now would be a good time to start preventing a common malady for men 50 and up...and hopefully getting back at leat 50-60% of the hair I've lost.It looks very promising in the early stages. Thanks for the info on all the facial side effects you experienced.I will be on the lookout.BTW,were you taking the 0.5 or a higher dose?
