Using dutasteride and finasteride together

I have been considering using dutasteride once a week along with my usual 1/4 proscar the other six days. I want to do this to get the benefit of lowering the other enzyme that helps to form dht. The best of both worlds, so to speak. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Why? Is there a "reaction" when used together?

I have decided to try something. I am going to try topical dutasteride. I just ordered a box of dutas generic dutasteride and am going to put 5 of them, actually, I am going to squeeze the liquid out of the capsule, into a standard bottle of 5% minoxidil plus tretinoin. One pack of dutas contains 30 pills, so that means 6 months worth per pack. I got this idea from www.hairsite4.com (topical dutasteride). I have no idea if this will work or not, however, the idea is to use the dutasteride as a topical dht inhibitor, like azelaic acid is in Xandrox. The difference is that we know for sure that dutasteride is a dht inhibitor. From what research I have done, dutasteride is capable of permeating the scalp. I am also about to finish my first year of finasteride and will continue with it.

12812-I too toyed with the idea of poking the gel cap and rubbing the liguid into my scalp. I don't know if it would absorb properly or not. How did you come to figure a 6 month's worth per 1 month supply of Duta ?

30 gelcaps come in a package. 5 gelcaps per bottle of minoxidil X 6 bottles = 6 months supply. The guy in the hairsite4.com forum was using 8 gelcaps per bottle. I just figured on 5 gelcaps so that my supply would last longer.
