Got prescription for Nizoral..but? Hi all!I just went to the doctor and I got a prescription for Nizoral 2%... That was very good. But then when I went to the pharmacy to get my shampoo I got some shampoo called Kezoral shampoo 2% (ketoconazol 120 ml). She sad that it was the same as Nizoral, just cheaper. I just wonder if this is the same as Nizoral? The active ingredient is Ketoconazol like in Nizoral. And the color is also red/orange. But will it be as effective as Nizoral? It says on the bottle that it contains ketoconazol, 20 mg/gram. Is this the same dosage as in Nizoral? 2: I also need a full descreption on how I should use the Nizoral in a way that treat MPH in the best way.1) How many times a week? 2) How long should the shampoo be in my hair before rinsing with water? 3) Should I use an ordinary shampoo before/after I have used Kezoral? Plz help.... !!! Need to know if 'm being cheated....

If it has the same ingredient, ketaconazol, then the only difference would be the name on the bottle. Most people use it 2-3 times per week. I don't think that you are being cheated, however, if it bothers you, then maybe you should take the shampoo back to your pharmacy and ask for brand-name Nizoral.

To make it sure, use the genuine nizoral name that contain ketoconazole ingredients. We never knows if that product claiming to be the same as nizoral wouldn't really be that effective. Use it 3 times a week and let it stay for just 3-5 minutes only. As an alternate use just a mild shampoo.

Hi Greg. I paid 8,5 dollars for 1 bottle of 120 ml 2% ketoconazole. And it will last for about 3 month I think. I thought it was much more expensve and on the internet they sell it for much much more. So very cheap in my country (Denmark). The price on the internet is about 20 - 25 dollars. I have only use it once because got it few days ago, but it seems to be nice and they say it works as well as 2% minoxidil. I'm currently using Proscar + Niz. Will apply Minox 5% when I return from my world-travelling.
