Anyone on Avodart please read

Has anyone seen a reduction in oily skin/acne whilst on this drug?

 		well in terms of fina (proscar/propecia) products, i have read of ALOT of people actually getting acne from it, because of hyperandrocity (spelling?) reflex causing a small amount of DHT to be more potent...also supposedly unconverted Test (which normally would be converted to DHT) in turn gets converted to more estrogen (ie giving gyno)...now im askin about avodart, which is dutasteride, and inhibits both type I and II 5AR enzymes (again supposedly type I is more present in the sebacous glands in skin, where as type II is more in the hair line)

member12705 what dosage were u using of proscar? 1mg, 1.25mg? and why did it take 6 months to decrease your acne (did your skin produce less oil quicker than the 6 month time frame?)

 		First let me answer the question. I had great skin until I started using Prop about 6 years ago. Prop and Fin defitnately make your skin oily and greasy, my skin is always shining and if I wipe my forehead there is always oil on my hands.

Cna you explain to me what half life is? I keep haering about half like and biological life. I've looked and can't find an answer I can understand. I would appreciate an explanation.

 		fin and dut will have similiar effects condsidering they are both battling dht dutasteride is not near as popular so it would probably be better to look at finasteride overall with side effects while taking dutasteride

 		still wondering if Avodart along with immortalhair's supplements will be benefits for acne (5 alpha-reductase inhibitor and Aromatase Inhibition)

The_Dice_Man. any thoughts?

i've been on avodart now for over a month and taking immortalhair's supplements for about 18 days alongside that; but I am still breaking out. will this regime eventually make me 100% clear? how long? is it safe to go on low-dose accutane (10mg every other day) as well as taking the avodart and supplements from immortalhair's website??

My acne was always really bad and my skin would get so greasy within say 30minutes of washing...I gues it took six months for me because for my body I guess it took that long for enough Proscar to build up in my skin to negate the effects of dht.....remember that Finisteride has a half life of about 8 hours...so really, taking it everyday, you are actually making a surplus of it in your body..thats why it takes several months to flush it all out of your system once you stop taking it.

If you were taking 20mg if finastride a day then you are flippin insane. No offense, but that is down right wreckless. You shouldn't be allowed to obtain drugs. 1 mg a day is all you need, 20 mg a day is madness.

Knowing this, how can anyone believe your acne story?
