Propecia/Proscar

Does cutting Proscar really give the same results as using normal Propecia? Isn't the amount of the pill that has the drug only part of it, so if you cut it up, you may NOT get any actually medicine? I am starting Propecia soon and I am scared to buy generic, because I'd hate to be taking it a year and figure out it wasn't the real deal. Proscar seems like the best buy, but I am just worried I may not have the same success. Help!

I just started 1 mg Finasteride. Is it the correct doze to start with ? Or should I start at a higher doze then reduce it later on ?

Never used Propecia. Been cutting Proscar tablets into 1/4 pieces from the start and taking 1/4 per day for 4 1/2 years. Results have been great. Finasteride is contained in the entire Proscar tablet mixed with fillers, same as Propecia. The only difference is that Proscar has 5mg Finasteride and Propecia 1mg.

Would it be better to cut it up into 5 instead of 4? That was it is the same dosage.

Its almost impossible to cut it into 5 pieces. Four pieces is already hard enough. The extra .25 should not make a huge difference. You could always skip the 5th day, if you wanted to get a total weekly dose equaling 1 mg a day.

Hey I am new to this forum and been reading alot of posts from u guys and just checking out my options. I think I have gained some knowlege from ur posts but still a little confused or I think not clear. My ? is about prop and prosc. Is prop and pros pretty much the same thing? Some body told me that pros is a little cheaper. Do they have the same side effects and the same success rate? I wana try either pros or prop, but confused. Please help. Btw I've been using 5%minoxdil for a month now and using amazing lazer comb for about a week. Yes and I just started using nizoral 2% yesterday. So which side are u guys on? Propecia or proscar. Thanx for the help in advance. Al

I say why take finasteride EVER, but, if you must, start at the lowest dose possible.... (.25) mg daily and monitor throughout for sides/growth/shedding etc....Also, get a blood test done and see how finasteride is effecting YOU individually.....

To me, thats why propecia (finasteride) sucks....My body isnt deficent in propecia, and my body needs DHT, especially as I age....Hairloss is a sign of imbalance, pure and simple....

Why not look at the reasons why instead of blindly takin a pill?for ex, why does propecia work for jim and not joe, grow hair for mike but not bill and give mild sides to dick (ha) and not paul....?Think about that, and that alone.....that should tell you that the drug and hormaone relationship is case specific....

alternately, look at herion.....give it to jim joe dick paul anyone for that matter, and they are gonna be high...no exceptions....

Why doest fin work like that?

Why not look at adrenal function? growth hormone? Test and estridol levels? see if your putituary gland is still producing...? What is out of balance? limit aromoatse......block 5ar naturally...So many more effective ways that finasteride....

heres some advice....

THINK FOR YOURSELF
