what other than rogaine?drug or natural can turn vellus hairs terminal,or at leats thicken them up?

i have an army of new vellus hairs that are all over my temples that after over 6 months have failed to grow past pitifull blond hairs that i can pull with tweezers but not yet my fingers.

they appeared at about month 2 and have not grown any thicker, darker,or longer even after using topical zinc and topical avodart.

are there any products that have been shown/proven to show that they are capable of stimulating vellus hairs to terminal(and please dont say emu oil,lol im serious here)other than rogaine??

i recently dyed my hairline today to get a good look and to color these new rogaine stimulated vellus hairs and man, once they are colored black, you can really see the density and numbers that they have grown in.if i could find something to get these hairs to grow even maybe to only an inch,i feel it will help my whole hairline problem and i can postpone my transplant evaluation.

as happy as i am in regards to the results that avodart and rogaine have done for the rest of my head,at this rate i see neither drug stimulate enough growth on my hairline to give me my desired look.

this may be a last ditch call for help before going under the knife,i see nothing in the near future.the only think that i hear currently available is that antibiotic(forget the name)that they are doing trials on and it is supposed to be preforming very well as a topical.roxy somthing or other...anyway,since it has been posted by at least 2 people and noone either knows shit here or wants to talk about it,i may just get the 800 grafts that will fill in the temple dents that avodart could not help me with(helped me everywhere else, even reduced body hair)but unless noone is willing to share comments on this new drug what else is there??my temples are far from dead follicles ,they just need a boost that rogaine simply cannot provide.

please help.i dont want to go under the knife.

oh that mystery drug is called roxithromysin or something like that.

why is noone excited about this??if the trials show prmoise(and they are in stage 2 or 3,why would they go so far if it was a dead end)this drug is not a new drug, and much like spiro,is being made overseas and very cheap prices due to the patent running out years ago.its juts one of those old drugs they are taking a new look at and seeing if it has another use.

initial trials were very promising and this stuff can already be bought and compounded ourselves,so why are we not discussing this??

for a person like me who is coming close to trying everything, having decent sucess with current regimin, with the exception of the infamous temples that 90 percent of this forum are having no luck with,id think that there would be more excitement/discussion about this.

am i missing something here or do you all see this as another dead end and are willing to dismiss it before its even given a fair chance.

Hi deejac, I wish I knew more wish I could help but I know little myself and i'd like some more answers to =) . Hopefully someone out there has had more success with something else.

I'm curious about one thing though. You stated that avodart helped reduce body hair? How does it do that and where exactly does it reduce body hair.

I'm not ape-like hairy but ever since I started using rogaine a year ago it seems it made some body hair grow in places where I use to have very little, like shoulders, back of neck, and the lower back area.

Having less body hair is always a plus =). Is there anything out there that reduces facial hair or body hair, a topical cream maybe? I have a problem with chronic ingrown hairs when I shave, or pluck anywhere, face, chest etc.. it's annoying.

I've never heared about someone who managed to return vellus hair (I have an army of them too deejac) into terminal.
As it concern Roxithromycin is not serious. Some companies based on our agony and a ridiculous Clinical Trial they dream $$$$$$.

I can honestly say cleansing treatments can do turn vellous hairs into terminal hairs. Once the built up barriers are removed, the scope I use is able to extract the sebum mass, demodex and other follicular toxins from within the follicle cavity. Then, backing the treatment up with organic products, fostering healthier environments, allowing for healthier hairs to grow. I've been doing this for almost 4 years now.

there has to be something out there.i have a couple hairs that popped up on my hairline that are much longer than one would consider vellus, and one even in an area of my hairline that is lower than i ever remember it being!!not to say my hairline is anywhere near back to normal, just the odd hair or two.

also, woman who use too much minox often complain of increased facial hair, isnt that a case where vellus is turned terminal or would you just call these longer vellus hairs??

i think that we are at a great stage in recovery now that the foam and dnc is out.after reading a bunch of stuff today,i now have high hopes for both of them, but iv been let down before.
