Propecia vs Rogaine Ok, just wanting to see what others say. I have tried a couple of hair loss products in the past and they didnt really work for me (provillus and a couple of others). I have searched for something else that isnt a scam. Propecia and Rogaine seem to be the most well know 2. Wikipedia mentions these 2.I was just wanting some pros and cons or reasons why to choose one over the other. I have heard there are some bad side effects with Propecia. With Rogaine I have read that you will lose a lot of hair if you ever quit taking it. With either of these would I need any extra stuff or would it be enough. Which of these products does more in what areas and in what treatment ways? Thanx, for any advice.

Propecia is the only thing that has really worked for me, it's been a God-send! The sexual side-effects are minor and go away over time. Rogaine, on the other hand, sped up my hair loss -- I regret ever using it.

I used 2% Rogaine for one year when it first came out, and I lost a LOT of hair that year, much quicker than ever before. After being on Propecia for three years, with good results, I decided to give the Rogaine 5% a try... big mistake! After six months of use, I lost most of my Propecia regrowth, and no, it did not come back after quitting Rogaine. Maybe it's the alchohol, I don't know, but Rogaine is poison for me.

I don't mean to scare anyone away from trying Rogaine, but seriously--take some photos of your hair every month-- thats the best way to tell if a product works for you or not. And I don't buy this "shedding hair is a good sign" thing at all.

Thanx a lot for the responses. Ok, I might try both (but I have seen a lot about the bad sexual side effects of Propecia - should i avoid taking that chance (what's the percentage)?). So how long does it take to see results and where is the best place to order? Also, with Propecia should I order Proscar instead? Any links or advice would be appreciated. Thanx.
