I'v read how some people have lost hair while using Rogaine foam or the regular Rogaine. I'v heard when you first use it, you will lose hair, but the hair you lost should regrow back. The hair that people lost, did it eventually grow back, or it never grew back?

Dan998-- You should apply minoxidil (either as lotion or as foam) to a dry scalp; a wet scalp will dilute the medicaton on the skin surface and interfere with absorption (the medication already contains a solvent or foam vehicle that is formulated to maximize absorption). So if you have washed your hair, you should use a hair drier before applying the minox. (Try to avoid using a hairdrier after the mediction is applied; you will dry out the vehicle and interfere with absorption of the minox.) Member18784-- If you have stimulated hairgrowth on your back, it means that a significant amount of minoxidil has been absorbed systemtically (bad) but it has been effective (good). You may want to try reducing the dosage and continue with the minox for awhile longer--you may be able to reduce the cardio symptoms and still retain the effectiveness. If you see hairgrowth on your back, there MUST be some effect on your scalp hair, since the mechanism of action is the same; and since you are concerned about frontal hairloss, you should know that minox is known to be effective in the frontal hairline, while finasteride is less effective there. Re: Should I quite Rogaine Foam Ronlev, have you tried both the Rogaine Foam and the Rogaine Liquid. If so, which one did you like better?

Not to be too insulting, but have you ever read anything about minox??? When you first use this medication you will experience an increased shed of your hair...this is normal and part of the process...as for your transplanted hair, unless it is recently transplanted, there is NO HARM in using minox on transplanted hair. What hair you are losing is probably the non-transplanted hair which you were going to lose anyway. This is something your Doctor should have explained to you.
