Propecia..taking the plunge? HiHad a few questions. 1. Does Propecia mess or diminish your hairline? Even if you dont have recession there? 2. Is shedding onyl at the begining or is it something that will be on and off? 3.Is this the first route to go if you are diffused in the fron, crown areas? Instead of a HT. 4. Would this regimine be good? Innove tabltes to (keep hair from falling) and than propecia. Maybe this will diminish a bad shed period? 5. I ordered kettomouse from Italy. Ill let you guys know how it works. P.S. I dont use any meds now just IH recommendations..which have changed for what I see, Zix, Nizoral shampoo. Any suggestions on what I can add?

FP everyone reacts differently to propecia. For some it supposedly works wonders, immediately halting any further loss and even some regrowth. For others it makes things worse. All you can do is give it a try and be positive when trying it, the statistics are in your favour. All those who have tried propecia have their own opinions on it so any responses to your questions will be purely subjective and depend upon how the individual who is answering, responded.

im 25 now and have been on propecia since the age of 21. everything was cool initally and then i made the mistake a few years back of trying to get off of propecia. i have found that everytime i try to get off of it, my crown will thin out alot. i gain most of the ground back, but i unfortunately think that i am stuck with it until something better comes along. also, ive come to notice that propecia's effectiveness seems to be decreasing as time goes on. topical flutamide has been shown to be more effective that finasteride. some guys over there at hairlosshelp have stated that flutamide might be giving them gyno, but these are also the same DUDES that are taking spironolactone ORALLY! they're like, i wonder if its the flutamide giving me these bitch tits??? no dumbass, its the spiro that your taking. thats way too ballsy for me.

1. Does Propecia mess or diminish your hairline? Even if you dont have recession there? My hairline has stayed the same for the eight years I've been on Propecia. 2. Is shedding onyl at the begining or is it something that will be on and off? I don't know what you mean by shedding, but it took four months for Propecia to really kick in and stop the hairloss/regrow hair. 3.Is this the first route to go if you are diffused in the fron, crown areas? Instead of a HT. A good HT surgeon wil tell you to get on Propecia BEFORE getting a hair transplant. No sense in getting a HT if your hair will continue to fall out... 4. Would this regimine be good? Innove tabltes to (keep hair from falling) and than propecia. Maybe this will diminish a bad shed period? I've never had a "bad shed period" since Propecia. Hope this helps!

Hey guys thanks for the response.Sorry for the typos..darn wireless computer. Anyhow, what I meant by shedding on and off is that I heard ppl go through sheds before the med starts working. But what I dont hear is if that shed are only at the beginning when your body goes through the shock or is it something that is always going to happen on and off???Not sure. About the HT..i think the onyl HT I would get would be FUE..can do the scar. But if propecia works for me and gives me atleast 10-20% regrowth than I will be satisfied. Im 35 and still have good coverage..Diffused on front, no hairline recession, thinner crown. Yes I have also heard that propecia decreases after a few years. I heard some ppl go strong for 7-10 yrs. If thats the case im ok with that. By that time I would be in my mid 40's and something else may come along. I just want to do something now and get my freaking mind out if this and live my life without worrying about this everyday. Chore I read yesterday in a doc websote that if you stop taking propecia the rest of the hair "tha is now affected by the medicine will fall out" Is flutamide working for you ? Is this a topical?

yes, the flutamide is a topical (3%) available through genhair.com. i havent recieved mine yet though. i have been having some very encouraging results lately with some other stuff. i have this oceanwonder laminaria extract. they provide a small 2oz spray bottle along with the large bottle of the extract. ive been filling the bottle with 1.75 oz. of laminaria extact and then adding 1 gram of sophora flavescens extract to it. shake very well and add a splash of water. ive also been using clobetasol in the hairline. i wish i would have taken before photos but i dont have a digital camera just yet. i notice that i have half-way terminal hairs popping up in the frontal/temporal area. lets look at the mechanisms.. laminaria has been shown to induce ORSC growth. sophora flavescens induces igf and is a more potent inhibitor of 5ar than finasteride. ive also incorporated SOD spray to try and enlarge the shrunken follicles. maybe everything is having a synergistic effect.. i dont know. all i know is that i am having better results quickly than i have ever had with any minox product.. and ive tried them all. call bullshit... i could care less.. im looking foward to getting on with my life. heres a study. http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=56402&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=

RT-PCR analysis showed that Sophora flavescens extract induced mRNA levels of growth factors such as IGF-1 and KGF in dermal papilla cells, suggesting that the effects of Sophora flavescens extract on hair growth may be mediated through the regulation of growth factors in dermal papilla cells.

i ordered it from chineseherbsdirect.com. it takes a little better than a week to get to you. it is rather inexpensive too. look for the sophora flavescens extract 5:1 powder. the laminara extract can be found at oceanwonder.com or something to that extent.. if thats not the website, let me know and i will double check it. dude... just like everyone else on here, i know the status of every single hair on my head... especially the ones in the hairline. i have halfway terminal hairs popping up left and right and actually outlining where my hairline should be. and in the area of my frontal region where i still have normal hair growth, i have noticed that the base of the hairs have these little black knot looking things. the same knots that you see at the base of your girlfriends hairs. what does this tell me??? i feel better than i have in years because my analytical/pessimistic brain cant override the visual evidence.
