Re: sinere about topical finasteride

Fin will be in the next topical. Maybe Sinere already received the Fin. Concentration will be between 0.1% and 0.25%. Applying in the evening and showering in the morning is a good procedure.

Re:

Sinere can you list the ingredients of the next topical you are going to release (the non-minoxidil one)? You said that it will be released in December so you should have the ingredients finalised by now...

thanks

Do you have a NO finasteride version? I will not touch that stuff due to its debilitating and never-ending side-effects!

I don't see the point of topical fina anyway. Serum DHT contributes a lot to the DHT at the hair follicle, so only removing DHT topically will not have a big effect. And if it does, this will be due to systemic absorption.

For the last time, DHT is also produced locally. Why would you think THAT isn't important enough as the DHT in the rest of your body?

Why do my topicals work without serum 5AR inhibition?

Why has Jacob succes without serum 5AR inhibition?

Why did NanoAdeno 1 work for a lot of people?

Hair loss happens locally on your scalp. You don't lose hair on the rest of your body, don't you?

Etc. etc. etc. etc.

Re:

Pfizer points out that FIN is so great because it is a type II 5AR inhibitor. And they point out that it is the type II 5AR which is dominantly present near the DP cells in the hair follicles if I remember right. Also there is more 5AR present in balding skin. That is the point.

"Finasteride, a Type 2 5alpha-reductase inhibitor, in the treatment of men with androgenetic alopecia."

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=15992088&ordinalpos=4&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

"Men genetically deficient in the Type 2 isoenzyme of 5alpha-reductase do not develop AGA. Moreover, Type 2 5alpha-reductase has been detected in scalp hair follicles, and balding scalps contain increased Type 2 5alpha-reductase activity and DHT levels. Taken together, these findings provide a rationale for the use of Type 2 5alpha-reductase inhibitors in the treatment of men with AGA. Finasteride, a specific and potent inhibitor of human Type 2 5alpha-reductase, decreases the formation of DHT from testosterone."

"Clinical studies in balding men demonstrated that finasteride reduced scalp DHT levels and improved hair growth, confirming the role of DHT in the pathophysiology of AGA. Dose-ranging studies established the optimal dose of 1 mg/day for the treatment of men with this disorder."

I also remember an experiment where different oral Fin dosages where used and the plasma and scalp DHT levels where measured. Above a certain FIN dosage the plasma DHT concentration did not decline significantly any further but the scalp DHT levels did.
