Minoxidil Advice I've had two poor experiences with Minoxidil products and am thinking of quiting them altogether.1. used the regular Rogaine and it gave me a flaky scalp and my hair thinned. 2. Moved to Revivogen for a year and nothing really happened apart from some more loss. 3. Been using Spectral.DNC and Revita for the last 9 months. I discovered that I was getting scalp itch and acne from Revita, so stopped and used caffeine with a regular shampoo. I realised that it was the caffeine giving me the scalp itch, so have just stopped it completely. I not sure if I should stop Spectral.DNC completely or continue with it? My hair has continued to get worse over these last 9 months. I'm starting to get skeptical about DS labs products after my experience with Revita. I would rather get off minox if its no help, because its probably not much good for my health. Thanks

nonstop: Some people respond to Minoxidil very well, others just a little, and some not at all. Also, many Minoxidil users who think they are not responding very well discover that Minoxidil was working better they thought once they stop using the stuff. I've responded very well to Minoxidil solutions including Spectral DNC and Minoxidil solutions that contain Retin-A. If you want to continue on Minoxidil, but no longer wish to use Spectral DNC, you may wish to try Dr. Lee's standard 5% with or without Retin-A [products #500 & #501], Dr. Klien's ReMox or Promox, or Nanominox. As far as your statement that you are "starting to get skeptical about DS labs products after my experience with Revita" is concerned, you state "that caffeine giving me the scalp itch". Just because Revita contains caffeine, and caffeine contained therein gave you a scalp itch, what does this have to do with DS Lab products? I've used Revita and Alpecin, both caffeine based shampoos without any scalp itch as have many others!

You may also need to know (if you don't already) that Revita contains 4% caffeine, and people who are mixing themselves are also using this concentration. In the European study, however, I believe the concentration was something like 0.05% if I remember correctly. More isn't always better.

If you see photos of my hair from two years ago I have lost alot of hair diffusely its very noticable. I started losing hair around the hairline, but applied minox all over my scalp and all this area has thinned. I haven't applied anything to the temples and they look perfect. No one else in my family has suffered from hair loss... I look very similar to my old man and he didn't have this problem at my age. whovian in my case more isn't better, but why risk my more inflammation if I have a sensitivity to it. I've had big white heads popping up on my scalp from Revita. Sandman - DS labs are marketing a product for hair loss without any research into its effectiveness. The ingredients in it are not always being used according amounts in studies e.g. take caffeine. There are a hell of a lot of people out there shedding like crazy from it.

What alternative treatments have been successful? How do you applied sophora, laminaria or aloe vera? What research backs these up in terms of hair loss? I remember there is research behind topical green tea.

My advise on Minoxidil is use just straight Kirkland brand from costco. Use proscar or propecia and use nutritional supplements. I have been on this regimine for many years and kept and have had good results. I tried Spectral DNC and I tried Revita and had a shed and when I stopped hair started to return I would stay away from the internet companies. I do think folligen has some benifit as it makes your scalp feel good. Also Immortal hair is a big scam some of his supplement suggestion is good but if that is all you did you would lose your hair just like you were not doing anything.

Hairkeeper I assume Kirkland's minoxidil is like regular rogaine, which gave me a flaky scalp and thinned my hair. This is not an option for me.
