minoxidil v llt after 10 years on propecia and minoxidil i think it may be time for me to give up on minoxidil. i think this combination while giving some excellent results in the first couple of years and bringing me back from a terrible state has had its day. i have a lot of very fine hair on the top of my head and if i continue down this path it will either stay that way or gradually become finer, i just dont seem to be able to progress very much. with new growth factor topicals and tb4 coming into play there are new possibilities. i have cut down to less than 1 mil per day and want to cut down further. however i dont want to stop dead after such long time and have a serious shed. i want to phase it down over at least a year, gradually dropping the dosage. i have no intention of dropping proscar for the foreseeable future.my questions are for the llt experts or users, if i continue this phasing down of minoxidil and acquire a serious lllt device will minoxidil cancel out the benefits off llt. i have read that minoxidil and llt dont work well together. or has anyone either used or phased out minoxidil while using lllt?

valderama, expect a big shed after stopping minoxidil. I went off and on a few times with that stuff and each time I got a pretty big shed. I stopped for good a few months ago and noticed since using laser my shed was not as big as before. So I think you will be alright with the gradual drop. Minoxidil is evil, it gave me itchy scalp (which laser fixed)and lots of shedding and gave my friend a bloated face (& never helped his hair. He still is too hard headed to try laser)

i view it the same as dropping fin. u have hair grown from fin., hair grown from min, and hair grown from lasers. all are reliant on continuation of the treatment. if u drop fin, any hairs that were shed and then regrown with it will be lost. if u drop min, any hairs that were shed and regrown from it will be lost, and the same for lasers, although theres alot less knowledge on wat will happen when u stop, maybe some will keep some i dont know. noone seems to know. NOW, if u ween off minoxidil, and introduce lasers, the same thing is happening, its just the hair will only be lost at a certain point, when dosage gets too low. Those hairs reliant on that extra circulation or watever, will fall, and at the same time hairs will be being regrown from lasers. if u make this transition long enough, laser hair will be able to mask the fact that ur losing minoxidil hair. But dont think that using lasers will provide protection to these weak thin minoxidil hairs, cos they probably wont.

thanks for that jettset thats interesting i was thinking of an alternate day approach gradually dropping the dosage. its good to know it works in principle. if you dont mind answering a couple more questions, how long has been since you finished minox? what kind of results are you getting? and what kind of llt device are you using? cue can you give me some feed back on the first two questions please? i hope anxious is wrong cos it would effect all the hair on the top of my head. i have an alomost complete set of thin hair on top. The sides and back are almost entirely unaffected by mpb where i havent used minox, maybe propecia is working here or maybe i wouldnt have lost hair there anyway.
