Started talking Avodart 0.5mg twice a week

Based on my research I'm taking 0.5mg twice a week (mon and fri).

My questions:

1) What is 0.5 mg of Avodart equivalent to Propecia wise?

2) Is twice a week 0.5mg potent enough? Or is it too low?

3) If anyone can share dosage info or experiences will be appreciated.

I too take Avodart twice a week as recommended by the doctor. From what I know, twice a week is enough because its effects stay in the body a couple of days every time you take it. You need to take it Monday and Thu. instead of Fri. That way it's spaced out better. Dut. functions a little differently than Fin. So, it's not about dosage.

Can you tell me how long you've been taking Avodart, and if you've seen any improvements or any negative effects?

Also, I just want to verify you only take one pill of 0.5mg twice a week?

As far as twice a week, it just depends. Twice a week will keep a certain amount in your system, but not as much as taking it more often. So it is just whether that happens to be enough for you. Twice a week may be plenty, or not enough.

As for side effects, I don't know. I dont think I've felt any dramatic changes over the years, if any changes at all. As you may know, some people do experience some side effects but I think they're the minority. Again, I'd say there were no side effects in my case.

The problem is we know so little what is the effective dose for hair loss.

My first run with Avodart was daily for two weeks, then every other day thereafter. I am thinking for my next run to do daily three weeks then twice weekly thereafter. Need to think about that more.

Either way, I wil only do topical. First, because I actually think topical is equally effecitve as oral and more important, no matter how much I don't like hair loss, I am not going to take an anti-androgen orally. Period.
